The workshop

This is a one day workshop on game design, held by Pietro Polsinelli. It is a full day of work, and it will provide participants with the core concepts for defining a game idea, a first practice in design and materials to keep working on the craft.

By “workshop” I mean an experience where conceptual definitions will alternate with practice exercises. All the participants will have the opportunity to produce game design materials and get feedback during the course.

With this experience you’ll start adding game design to your tool-set, and this can be useful not only in the commercial videogame field, but also in creating promotional services, defining public interest campaigns, defining usability for software and even for non digital products.

  • A good knowledge of written English is necessary.
  • You need to bring your laptop to the course.

Note on the meaning of game design: this is not a course on graphic design. It is a course on defining games’ story, mechanics, rules and narratives.
